Water Resources Modeling was a sub-consultant to AOS Associates for Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis of the proposed expansion of O’Hare Airport (Areas B, C, D, E, F, G, and H). Areas B and C are shown above. Using XPSWMM, the hydrology and hydraulics of the stormwater conveyance and storage system for theses seven were evaluated. The peak runoff and volumes for the one hour 10-year and 100-year recurrence interval storms were determined. Then the storm sewer pipe capacities for those events were estimated. An alternative analysis was required to meet Federal Aviation Administration requirements for the proposed south runway and taxiways.
